According to clinical evaluation, licorice also contains prostaglandins, which promote secretion of stomach mucus and help alleviate abdominal ailments, such as gastric ulcers. There is some evidence that Licorice may help the body fight viruses. Licorice is well-known as a flavoring for candy, but very little licorice is found in commercial candy licorice sold today.
